Our Prepress/Business Operations Manager Sandy Stockton has been with “The Firm” for 20 years and has been in “the business” for 24 years. Her introduction to printing began in the mid 1980’s at Tognotti’s Auto World in Sacramento, heading up their sheet-fed shop, printing catalogs, business cards, letterhead and “Street Machine” packets. After a brief hiatus from the crazy world of print, she decided to jump back in with our company in 1991. Sandy started at the very bottom and has done almost all one can do in the print business… she even spent time on the press. Today, Sandy is smack dab in the middle of our operation, taking care of scheduling, billing and all prepress operations. As our prepress manager, she has seen some major changes over the years. The pre-press function has grown more than any other in the printing business and GCP has stayed on top of it from the beginning, installing our first CTP device in 2003. Sandy was knee deep in that transition and several upgrades since. In fact, she oversaw the installation of our newest CTP device in October, 2010, a Kodak Trendsetter News 70. “When customers are successful, we are successful and it starts with a healthy business relationship. I am proud of the relationship we have with our customers.” Our Press Manager Cesar Gomez joined our team in 2010 and has been running offset web presses for over 14 years. He prides himself in creating the best looking product possible and instills this same philosophy to his crews. He runs a tight ship and a clean shop. He expects the best from his staff and they respond favorably to his “follow me” style of leadership. He doesn’t ask them to do anything he doesn’t do himself. “I am fortunate to work with a company that cares as much about customers as I do. I want to give our customerss the best product I can give them and GCP wants nothing less.” Our Mailroom Manager Randy Jaworski has been pushing product out the door for one company or another for over 35 years. Nineteen of those years he spent making sure that you and I got our Sunset Magazines in a timely fashion. From there he got into the furniture rental business and even the high performance auto parts business before landing here with Gold Country Printing in February, 2002. Randy has been able to substantially increase volume around here without increasing manpower. That is good news for customers in that it keeps our costs down. He has made us a Muller-Martini shop exclusively (our inserting and stitch & trim equipment). Those in the business know that was a good move. Our machinery is fast and dependable. Randy has seen to it that our 24/7, eighteen man staff is also. “We are the last department to touch a publication before it hits the streets. Our customers know we take that responsibility seriously.” Our Sales Manager Jeff Royce has been with GCP in this capacity for 4 years. He came to the position with a unique background. Jeff has been in advertising management for 20 years. He deals with his customers comfortably because he knows their life all too well. He has been responsible for readership content and advertising sales budgets up to $13 million annually and has extensive background in both direct mail shopper and newspaper advertising. When you talk to Jeff as a customer, don’t be surprised if you both end up talking about ideas to grow your revenues in this competitive environment we live in. “I love my job because I really don’t sell printing. I sell a team of professionals that sincerely love what they do. They go that extra mile to win over customers for life. That’s an easy sale for me.” Our Fearless Leader Jim Easterly has been in the printing business for 32 years. Jim knows printing. From the age of 15 running a folder for a small daily newspaper in Sunnyside, WA to becoming the General Manager of the print shop of the Central Washington Press in Sunnyside, WA at the ripe young age of 20 to becoming the GM for the press operation at the Peninsula Gateway/Olympic Cascade Publishing. In April 2004, Jim joined Brehm Communications as the General Manager of Gold Country Printing. Jim is a “gear head” with extensive knowledge of press installation and set-up. He has worked miracles in our shop in creatively expanding capabilities in our charming and historical 100+ year old building. He also oversees all press installations at our other facilities throughout the country. Jim’s philosophy is that the most important element in running a top-notch print operation is to surround yourself with strong people who understand customer service. Equipment is important too, but it’s the people that make the difference. In Jim’s own words, “We utilize ALL our resources for any  problem our commercial clients might encounter. It is not uncommon for us to send our IT department out to fix any computer or software problem, our Creative Services department to help in software training or even our maintenance department to fix something as simple as a florescent light ballast”. At GCM you really are our business partner. Jim currently oversees not only the GCM staff but also runs the entire Gold Country Media group, newspapers and all.   All Rights Reserved.
